JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath to work with Professor Chris Bowen, who has been awarded an European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Fellowship in Novel Energy Materials: Engineering Science and Integrated Systems (NEMESIS).

Start date: Jan 2015

Number of fully-funded opportunities: one.

NEMESIS aims to create new piezolectric and ferroelectric energy harvesting systems capable of converting sunlight into chemical and electrical energy or mechanical vibrations into chemical energy.

Funding: Standard stipend and Home/EU fees for three years.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


Applicants should have a degree, materials, chemistry, physics, or a related area and be able to demonstrate understanding of materials, photochemistry or energy harvesting at experimental or modelling level.
