Research Scientist/Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Genomics

Description:

We are looking for a research scientist/postdoctoral fellow to support the work at the Integrated Cancer Genomics Unit at the DKTK site Frankfurt. The successful candidate will analyse cancer samples using next-generation sequencing analysis technologies. To this end, the candidate will establish and monitor next-generation sample preparation workflows and data analysis pipelines. In addition, the candidate will be involved in research projects and communicate with research groups at the Frankfurt campus as well as in Heidelberg.

Your profile:

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in biology, bioinformatics or a related field. Previous experience in next-generation sequencing sample preparation and data analysis is essential. In addition the candidate should be familiar with common bioinformatics software tools and at least one programming/scripting language (e.g. Python or R). Experience with Linux environments and cloud computing is a plus. The candidate will closely interact with other researchers and clinicians therefore excellent English communication skills are required.
