Post doctoral Fellow in Lattice Gauge Theory at the Cyprus Institute (CyI)

The Cyprus Institute (CyI) is a European non-profit science and technology institution based in Cyprus and led by an acclaimed Board of Trustees. The research aims of the Cyprus Institute are represented by three research centers: the Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CASTORC), the Science and Technology in Archaeology Research Center (STARC), and the Energy Environment Water Research Center (EEWRC). Considerable cross-center interaction is a characteristic of the Institute’s culture.

The Cyprus Institute invites applications for a Post-doctoral Fellow position in Lattice Gauge Theory. The successful candidate will be working at CaSToRC of the Cyprus Institute in Nicosia within the group of Prof. C. Alexandrou on Hadron Structure Studies at the Cyprus Institute.

The group is a member of the European Twisted Mass Collaboration and carries out common projects groups within the Collaboration and in particular with the group at DESY-Zeuthen and Frankfurt University. The group also has collaboration with the group at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre, University of Wuppertal and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The successful candidate will be participating in the following:
- Development of codes for massively parallel machines
- Analyzing results from simulations
- Proposal writing for computer access

Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Theoretical Particle Physics with experience in Lattice QCD
- Knowledge of HPC and large scale simulations
- High level communication and writing skills
- Adequate publications record in referred journals and presentation in conferences
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Proficiency in oral and written English.
