The Position

• data center infrastructure documentation, racks management, maintaining inventory of IT equipment
• physical installation of hardware in racks, assistance to system administrators
• planning, documentation and maintenance of network components
• assistance in hardware procurement

Requirements

• completed vocational education in electronics or information technology and/or degree as a Certified Technician ("Staatlich geprüfter Techniker")
• very good understanding of the network infrastructure
• familiarity with data center infrastructure (power, cooling, racks)
• experience in working with ePlan tool is considered advantageous
• good communication skills in English
• ability to work independently or within a team, as required

Duration: This position is initially limited to 2 years. The conversion into a permanent contract is possible.

Salary and benefits are similar to those of public service organizations in Germany. In addition European XFEL provides a non-contributory company pension scheme as well as broad relocation benefits. The European XFEL GmbH intends to achieve a widely international staff. Non-German candidates hired from abroad receive an international allowance.
