PhD Scholarships in Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands (2015)

Potential PhD candidates at ESE hold a (Research) Master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the PhD project, have obtained excellent study results, and are highly motivated to do scientific research.

Conditions of employment:
Our PhD projects are fully funded and salaried positions for 3 or 4 years, meaning that appointed PhD candidates are employees (promovendus) of Erasmus University Rotterdam. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU). Monthly salary for PhD candidates is € 2.083,00 up to € 2.664,00 in the final year (2014 figures, gross and fixed amounts). Successful candidates are appointed on a full-time basis for a total of 3 or 4 years. The candidate's performance is evaluated after 18 months and if positive, the contract is extended for the remainder of the project.

These projects are hosted by ESE and are affiliated with one of ESE’s graduate schools: ERIM or the Tinbergen Institute. ESE has a long tradition of scientific and applied research, and is a leading academic institution, hosting some of the world’s foremost economists in all major areas of economics and business economics.
