Nottingham Trent University has an outstanding reputation for our commitment to research that shapes lives and society. As part of our continued pledge to invest in research excellence we are delighted to announce the availability of over 20 fully funded PhD bursary places across our academic schools.

The School of Social Sciences (SOC)

The School of Social Sciences has research that is world leading and internationally recognised for the major contribution that it has made to the advancement of knowledge. Covering a range of disciplines, Social Sciences at Nottingham Trent has a strong focus on theoretically-informed and applied research that is multi-disciplinary in nature.

SOC Scholarships
We are awarding five fully funded PhD scholarships across Psychology, Politics, International Relations, Sociology, Criminology, Social Work and Professional Practice. Application deadline – 28 November

We also have 12 PhD projects that will be considered as part of the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship competition for 2015. Application deadline – 12 December

Nottingham Business School (NBS)

NBS provides education and research that combines academic excellence with impact. To contribute to this mission, NBS actively supports research that has an impact on business, management and policy.

NBS Scholarships
We are awarding seven School scholarships across our five divisions: Accountancy and Finance, Economics, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Management. Application deadline – 28 November

NBS Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Competition
We also have 12 PhD projects that will be considered as part of the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship competition for 2015. Application deadline – 12 December

School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment (ADBE)

We have an active and outward looking research culture, with a strong focus on impact and external engagement. Our research is divided into two main areas: Architecture and Built Environment (Architectural Heritage, Real Estate, Sustainable Technologies, Lean Project Management) and Product Design (Sustainable Consumption, Design for Health and Wellbeing, Advanced Design and Manufacturing Engineering).

School of Art and Design (ART)

Research in the School of Art and Design is dynamic and imaginative. Our academic staff, research fellows and doctoral students form an active research community, participating in a diverse range of research centres and groups and networks.
