Position Summary
UCC are currently recruiting for a Research Support Officer – Engineer for the development of the GRSI concept from tank testing to 1/4 scale development in the SFI MAREI centre. The role will involve both technical engineering work relating to onshore/offshore operations and marine engineering. The ideal candidate is required to have a strong background in marine renewable energy engineering with hands on experience in testing, developing a marine operations plan and conducting and developing an installation methodology and finally knowledge of marine tidal and wave turbines.
The candidate will be based in the Hydraulics and Maritime Research Centre, part of Beaufort in UCC but will relocate to the new state-of-the-art Beaufort Building at Ringaskiddy once it is completed. The candidate will work directly with a marine energy technology developer in Ireland, advancing marine renewable energy from a conceptual stage to prototype development stage.
