Senior Researcher in Generation of Multifunctional Surfaces with Laser Microprocessing

  • Analysis of actual capacities, definition of needs and participation in the definition of strategic research lines in laser micro processing.
  • Development of research activities in the field of generation of multi functional surfaces with laser microprocessing. Activities will include setup definitions, experimental trials, and result analysis.
  • State of the art at international level in laser micro processing: laser sources, processes and materials.
  • Launching of new R&D projects, market uptake.
  • Networking with technological and scientific partners at international level.
  • Scientific support for technical services offered by AIMEN to industry, related with laser surface modification.
  • Scientific publications and communication to the international scientific and industrial community.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • PhD degree in Physics, Materials Science or Engineering, preferably in the domain of laser processing.

Specific Competences and Skills:

  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in laser micro processing.

  • Knowledge in materials and light-matter interactions.

  • A  proven track record of scientific excellence should be demonstrated, in the field of laser micro-processing.

  • Management of R&D projects.

  • Advanced command of both written and spoken English.

Other Skills:

  • Knowledge of optical design and fluid mechanics.

  • Experience in experimental setup design and realization.

Experience:

  • Micro processing of surfaces with laser.
  • Participation in EU funded projects.
  • Experience in EU projects.
  • Publications in journals of the Journal Citation Reports.
  • Patenting.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Communication skills, teamwork oriented and leadership.
  • Excellent analytical, planning and organisational skills, including ability to prioritise.
  • International experience.
  • Knowledge of Spanish.
