Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher for one of the platform themes for which funding has been awarded for two years initially, and may be extended thereafter, subject to completion of a successful project review and funding being continued.The platform research topic is development of the next generation of marine energy devices including arrays of wave and/or tidal devices. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of research and development of such marine energy devices. Experience of experimental work using wave or tidal test tanks would be an advantage together with the use of advanced measurements systems like PIV and LDA. As this is a senior role, the candidate will also be expected to coordinate other researcher activities as well as liaison within and outside the MaREI project team.The candidate will be based in the Hydraulics and Maritime Research Centre in UCC but will relocate to the new state-of-the-art Beaufort Research Building at Ringaskiddy once it is completed in 2015.

Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher

This is an advanced research training role, building on their prior experience as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in UCC or elsewhere, where you will conduct a specified programme of research and research training under the guidance of the Co-Principal Investigator. The primary purpose of the role is to deliver research results and objectives, develop new or advanced research skills and competencies, the successful development of funding proposals and to interact in the supervision and mentorship of graduate students, in conjunction with an academic supervisor.Senior Post-Doctoral research positions must have previous post-doctoral experience of at least 3 years.
