The project involves the study of the motor signs characteristic of Parkinson's disease through the use of innovative contactless techniques for automatic diagnosis and rehabilitation also in a domestic environment, as an aid to the perceptual evaluation made by the physician and as an alternative to expensive marker-based techniques.
For diagnosis, the contactless system will enable monitoring the patient's motor performance during the day. For rehabilitation, the ability to perform the exercises in a domestic environment could provide more constancy in the exercise.
The project concerns the development of software tools for automatic analysis of movements, facial expressions and voice signals according to the UPDRS protocol to be deployed on a PC, smartphone or tablet, able to identify changes in the motor / phonatory characteristics due to the disease and to provide a feedback to the patient on the performance achieved with rehabilitation.
