Postdoc in Computer Science

At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Computer Science a number of positions as postdoc in Computer Science are open for appointment from January 2015 - December 31, 2016 or soon thereafter. The positions are available for a period of 1 - 2 years. Department of Computer Science is a department with many coherent activities within research, education, technology, development and co-operation with the surrounding society, and research dissemination within the computer science area. The department's research approach ranges from formal logic, over experimental construction to empirical description. The research in the department has computers, programming, as well as software- and computer systems as its field. The department offers a broad range of computer science educations at all levels as well as continued professional development.

Job description

We seek applicants within the following two areas:

  • Specification and modeling formalisms with special focus on resource-aware formalisms that are applicable within model checking.
  • Prescriptive analytics technologies, with a special focus on applications within smart grids such as flexible energy modeling and management.

Qualification requirements: 

Limited teaching within the area can be expected, but also in other study programmes at the University. 

Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.

Agreement

Employment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministry of Finance’s current Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Employment and salary are in accordance with the collective agreement for state-employed academics or the collective agreement for academics under the Danish Society of Engineers’ (IDA) and the Danish Association of Chartered Surveyors’ (DDL) negotiation areas.
