The department of Physics and Astronomy is active in research and education. It is organized into the divisions of Applied Nuclear Physics, Astronomy and Space Physics, High Energy Physics, Ion Physics, Materials Physics, Materials Theory, Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics, Nuclear Physics, Physics Education Research, and Theoretical Physics.
