PhD researcher in workflow middleware for hybrid clouds

Within the DistriNet Research Group of the Dept. of Computer Science, KU Leuven we gather more than 15 researchers working on and with middleware platforms for software-as-a-service (SaaS) and business-process-as-a-service (BPaaS). We currently focus on multiple research challenges in the domain of cloud-enabled workflows:
- scalability in hybrid clouds, the distribution of workflow tasks, load balancing and interoperability,
- security support in workflow middleware including advanced authentication, authorization and audit tactics,
- federated and decentralized execution platforms for large-scale workflows,
- customization of workflows and adaptive workflows on a per-customer and per-tenant basis.
We apply our findings in case studies in innovative application domains of cloud computing such as e-health, e-finance, e-media and e-government.
