Description

In the context of a larger public research project (Co-SDN) aiming at Software Defined Networking, the University of Luxembourg is offering a Ph.D candidate position at SnT with a focus on the main following activities:

Network function virtualization (NFV) for supporting new application driven network design and topologies
Software defined networking (SDN) based orchestration for load balancing, security monitoring and service chaining
Data Analytics for reactive and pro-active network configuration using SDN.
Northbound interfaces and services for SDN programming.
SDN and NFV for future 5G networks

The tasks of the Ph.D candidate will consist into performing research analysis as well as designing and evaluating proposed solutions through real implementation and/or simulation approaches. The research associate will have the opportunity to present his or her results to the international community by participating to worldwide scientific events.

A Master’s degree in computer science
Good knowledge in computer networks
Good development skills in Python and Java
Knowledge and skills in security will be considered as an advantage
Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
