RESEARCH POSITION (Experimental Applied Catalysis) - Texas A&M University at Qatar

I am seeking a full time researcher to conduct research on a joint research program with Chemical Engineering Department at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on Intensifying methane reforming by combining carbonate and chemical looping.

The candidate is expected to have excellent experimental skills including hands on experience in several of the following areas: (1) catalyst synthesis; (2) operation of instruments for catalyst characterization: BET surface area, temperature-programmed techniques (TPR, TPD, TPO and/or TPSR), thermal gravimetric analysis and differential thermal (scanning) analysis, XRD; quadrupole mass spectrometer; (3) product analysis (gases and liquids) by gas chromatography (capillary and packed columns); (4) instrumentation for laboratory reactors (temperature, flow and pressure measurement and control); (5) operation of a high pressure equipment. (6) Prior experience with ordering chemicals, laboratory supplies, stainless steel tubing, fittings, valves and other research supplies and instruments.

Also, the candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English (i.e. to have good listening comprehension/understanding of verbal conversation and instructions, be able to speak fluently, and write clearly in English).
