The Department of Physics at Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) invites applications
for a postdoctoral research position in the field of computational Materials Science. The
project is on Multiscale simulation of structural damage in materials using high performance
computing tools.
The candidate is expected to have a good experience in using modern electronic structure
calculations to investigate the mechanisms governing the damage in materials in general.
TAMUQ possess state-of-the-art computing resources and offers a stimulating working
environment. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to relocate to Doha, Qatar.
The candidate is expected to work with a team from Texas A&M University at Qatar, Qatar
Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), in addition to collaborators from
University of Lille (France) and University of Montreal (Canada).
The applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in physics, chemistry, materials science
or equivalent with a good knowledge of surface science and defect physics and high
performance computing.
