APPLAuSE - Advanced Program in Plasma Science and Engineering - is a doctoral program on Plasma Science and Engineering, which is now on its third edition. It consists in a student-centered and highly modular PhD program designed to enhance each student’s capabilities and maximize his/her potential. The hosting institution is IPFN, a research unit of Instituto Superior Tecnico, and the degree is awarded by the University of Lisbon, Portugal.

Each PhD program has a duration of four years. Successful applicants will be awarded a fellowship for this period and have the opportunity to enroll in an exciting and international research environment.

Application from all nationalities and countries of residence are welcome!

Eligibility criteria
You should have a solid background in Exact Sciences and Engineering – preferably, but not necessarily, including some basic knowledge in Plasma Physics.
You should be motivated to address cutting-edge scientific and technological problems, and have high availability to accept the mobility requirements of the program.
You should have excellent academic records, and be capable of embracing successfully a very demanding advanced training in Plasma Science and Engineering.

APPLAuSE is international in nature, so applications from foreign students are welcome and encouraged, including from countries outside the European Union.
