Postdoctoral Fellowships, Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics, Germany (2015-2016)

The Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Frankfurt am Main investigates the attentional, cognitive and affective mechanisms of aesthetic perception and evaluation.

The institute currently offers grants for research projects regarding the aesthetic perception and evaluation of language and literature. The grants are awarded for a period of two years with a possible extension of up to one year. Starting date is flexible.

Applicants should hold a PhD degree, have an excellent record in their respective disciplines (literary studies, linguistics, psychology, or neuroscience), be interested in cooperations across disciplines and prepared to work in a multi-language environment.

Applicants should have an excellent record in their respective disciplines and submit an 8-10 pages prospectus of their research project along with two reading samples.

We offer a monthly tax-free stipend of up to € 2.500; we additionally cover some insurance costs.
