Life Cycle Assessment Analyst – mobility systems (M/F)

The successful applicant will be mainly involved in the CONNECTING and DyPLCA research projects co-funded by the National Research Fund Luxembourg (FNR).
The main objective of CONNECTING is to propose an operational approach for consequential LCA of mobility scenarios, rooted on the development of an integrated agent based-environmental assessment model for the specific case of Luxembourg’s cross-border commuters and their mode choice behaviour.
The main objective of DyPLCA (co-funded by the French National Research Agency ANR) is to develop a methodology and operational tool for the calculation of dynamic LCAs, with also a focus on mobility systems taken as case study.

Description

In the framework of the CONNECTING project, under the supervision of the principal investigator and with the collaboration of a research team composed by 5 researchers, the incumbent will have to carry out all the project tasks related to LCA work packages, and in particular:

• the development of the LCA model,
• its integration to the agent based model that will be developed by the project team,
• the consequential LCA simulations, followed by sensitivity/uncertainty analysis and interpretation of the results.

Moreover, he/she will assist the Principal Investigator in:

• the project management tasks,
• the overall coordination of the project partners.

Regarding the DyPLCA project and according to its main objectives, under the supervision of Luxembourgish and French principal investigators and in collaboration with an international research team, the incumbent will have to contribute to the development of the dynamic LCA model and the collection of the time dependent data and information to feed the calculation tool.

In both projects, he/she will support the transfer of the project results to the private and public sectors, contribute to the valorisation of the research results by writing scientific papers published in top-ranked scientific journals and make presentations at international conferences.
