PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF JOB

SAP BeLux is currently looking for a business analytics presales expert.

The successful candidate has a history in presales/solution advisory working with business intelligence tools and methodologies, and has the understanding and the skill to help our sales team and clients to assess and understand the value-add of business analytics to any organization. The business analytics presales expert will be an active participant in the software sales cycle at SAP as a member of the account team.

Primary focus of the role is to work as an integral member of the sales team to drive revenue through deal support, demand generation and sales readiness. In that role, the business analytics presales expert will present and demonstrate how business insight can be translated into business value based upon SAP’s business analytics platform for key and strategic accounts. The ideal candidate lives and dies with driving sales cycles into a win, and is real passionate about business intelligence.

Responsibilities of the business analytics presales expert include active participation in any of the following: customer sales cycles, strategy sessions, value based product presentations or demonstrations, coordination and conducting Proof of Concept’s and SAP Partner enabling and mentoring. The candidate should be an evangelist and knowledge multiplier, with great presenting- and communication skills and commercial experienced.

S/he will be part of SAP’s EMEA presales organization and thus part of the BI Solution Hub. The solution hubs are virtual teams across EMEA focusing on aligning presales capabilities and increasing quality through collaboration, standardization and attaining skill consistency through enablement and accreditation.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Actively participate in sales qualification, customer strategy workshops, delivery of an architectural design based on SAP’s business analytics platform, strategies and competitive positioning:

  • Consult with clients on the application architecture, the underlying systems and data architectures and build viable differentiation strategies in a specific competitive environment leveraging strong analytic and data modeling capabilities
  • Thorough understanding of one or more competitive business intelligence offerings
  • Lead the effort in scoping and developing Proof-of-Concept plans to successfully demonstrate how the SAP business analytics platform can successfully meet customer’s technical and business requirements.
  • Ability to quickly learn new product and business concepts.
  • Ability to interact with c-level audience and present at large events
  • Strong and passionate desire to work in a sales organization and provide sales support to Account Executives as a product expert.
  • Possess strong sense of teamwork, integrity, self-motivation, positive attitude, and problem solving
  • Self-driven and able to work independently as well as in collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Communicate the business requirements to the project/implementation team after completion of sales to ensure a smooth transition from presales to implementation stages, warranting a continuous degree of customer satisfaction.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • University Degree with a high degree in business economics or information technology
  • Ideally, the candidate has taken one or more of the following courses: deep dive courses in BI tools, Kimball, BI Scrum, …

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5+ years presales experience supporting major sales engagements or 3-5 years solutions specialist (equivalent customer facing) experience.
  • Strong and proven experience with business intelligence solutions like SAP Business Objects, SAS VA, IBM-Cognos, QlikView, Tableau, Oracle  or similar. A hand-on experience with one of the industry leading BI tools is a prerequisite.
  • Familiarity with budget, planning and or consolidation solutions like SAP BPC or IBM TM1 is an asset
  • Thorough understanding of methodologies for dimensional modeling, agile visualization or multi-dimensional analysis.
  • Have experience in one or more of these business areas: churn, demand forecasting, geo spatial, customer segmentation or similar.
  • Experience in working with predictive analysis tools is an asset
  • Understanding of data integration, data modeling, data warehouse and analytics architectural components
  • Successful sales or implementation engagements with business intelligence solutions
