Key Responsibilities:
- Building on the robust foundations and continuing to grow the Civil and Structural Consulting business to internal and external clients;
- Ensuring financial targets, quality output and programme targets of the team are met. The role includes full Profit and Loss Accountability for the team;
- Delivering technically challenging projects to the exacting standards required within our nuclear safety-related environment;
- Driving a delivery ethos that sustains our position as a partner that can deliver to demanding programme commitments;
- Providing an efficient and effective delivery service to our customers. This will encompass project management, engineering management and quality management;
- Acting as line manager for a total team of circa 30 personnel to ensure their safety, welfare and training and development needs are met;
- Managing resources to ensure staff are effectively deployed Recruiting and retaining high calibre personnel to meet the business requirements;
- Engaging with our key customers with a specific focus upon EDF as our primary external client and with our New Build business as our primary internal client. The quality of the relationship with our clients is fundamental to our success. The successful candidate will sustain and develop the excellent relationships that have already been established;
- Striving to secure new work steams.
Role Requirements:
- Degree qualified or equivalent in a technical or engineering discipline;
- A background in Civil and Structural engineering is strongly preferred;
- Experience in maintaining and growing businesses is a significant advantage;
- Knowledge of the nuclear industry;
- A strong people focus;
- Experience of line management, recruitment, development and deployment of people;
- Delivery experience in a project/programme management capacity;
- Willingness to travel across the UK to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients;
- Ability to develop business with existing and new customers;
- A strong commercial awareness and able to apply corporate governance of the business;
- Ability to identify problems and issues and seek effective resolution;
- Ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.
