Build Engineer

What you'll do
As a Build Engineer you'll be responsible for our development systems and processes. You'll have a strong drive to improve and automate the environments used by almost a 100 developers to build, test and release our Linux and Windows software. You'll use your excellent communication skills to collaborate closely with developers and identify problems or potential improvement points. You'll innovate and introduce new tools and DevOps best-practices to make the way we produce our software faster, more consistent and reliable.
 
Your typical activities will include:

  • Maintaining current development, build and test environments that consists of over 100 Linux and Windows servers;
  • Writing tools and scripts to automate our C++, C# and Python development pipelines;
  • Collaborating with developers to introduce standards and best-practices in fast-changing environment;
  • Administering wide range of development support systems: code repositories (Git & SVN), Atlassian suite, code analysis tools, binaries repositories etc.;
  • Monitoring our tools and systems;
  • Staying up to date with new technologies and innovating to make our development environment more efficient.

What you'll need

  • Expert knowledge of Unix/Linux servers administration;
  • Working experience with configuration management tools (eg. Puppet, Chef, Ansible);
  • Excellent scripting skills (eg. Bash, Python, Ruby, Powershell);
  • Strong experience with git, including different workflows and branching/merging strategies;
  • Experience with CI systems administration (eg. Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity);
  • Understanding of concepts of Continuous Delivery and proven experience with automating build, test and release processes.


Experience with following will be considered an advantage:

  • Atlassian products administration (eg. JIRA, Bamboo, Confluence, Stash, Crucible);
  • Docker;
  • Cmake;
  • Windows servers administration and Powershell scripting;
  • Code quality analysis tools (eg. Coverity, SonarQube);
  • Package and binaries managers (eg. Artifactory, Nexus, RPM, Nuget, PyPI);
  • Monitoring systems.
