Description
This 4-year fully funded PhD opportunity will involve working in the School of Engineering at Cardiff University in conjunction with Tata Steel. You will be based in the Institute of Energy, working with academics that have a background in fuel and energy systems. This project aims to make novel measurements of the properties of coal, including how blending of different coal types might affect the iron making process. The work will be heavily industry oriented, with an opportunity to produce highly relevant data with significant impact on the industry. This work will be experimentally based, using some complex and sensitive experimental analysis to produce original data. Full training and support will be provided throughout via a research associate working directly in this field.
