The Business Innovation and Improvement Programme (BIIP) is a three year programme with an objective of transforming UNOPS operations into a smarter, better-integrated set of processes and systems in line with our mission and vision, and the specific objectives of our strategic plan. Due to its strategic importance in UNOPS ongoing quest for excellence the programme will be located in the Executive office and work closely with all UNOPS practices and offices.

In broader terms, the programme will enable UNOPS to:

  • Receive and manage organizational information in a manner that can better support the implementation of our strategic plan, collaboration with partners, and ensure the delivery of value;
  • Manage and monitor operations, programmes and projects in an efficient manner, while enabling the management of changes in operational as well as organizational contexts;
  • Streamline support processes and corresponding system functions to enable a seamless flow of information that leaves personnel free to perform greater value-added functions;
  • Successfully tackle the range of functional challenges we currently encounter and will encounter in the future.
  • To deliver on these outcomes, the programme will release a suite of integrated products, including a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, an Enterprise Project Management system and a Business Relationship Management system.

Functional Responsibilities

With reference to the Systems Design and Configuration Coordinator, the Agresso Finance Functional Specialist will be part of the Design and Configuration team implementing the financial and payroll modules of Agresso.

S/he will be involved in all stages of the project, from the build to the final deployment and postimplementation phases. The Agresso Finance Functional Specialist will identify the strengths and weaknesses of the finance-related functionalities in the system and the key risk areas for successful implementation.

S/he will primarily:

  • Liase with process owners in the business to specify and document business requirements
  • Translate business and functional requirements into Agresso configuration
  • Design and develop the configuration within Agresso, individually and in cooperation with the team of developers.
  • Contribute in the development of training materials and other guidances.
  • Document all work activities, including design specifications and test plans.
  • Test existing and new finance-related functionalities in Agresso.
  • Any other duties as required.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:

  • Masters Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology and Information Systems, Finance or Management Sciences is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in combination with additional two years of experience may be accepted in lieu of master's degree.
  • Applicants holding a high school dimploma must have 11 years of relevant professional experience in order to be consiedered.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible all round experience in finance is required, preferably in an international environment.
  • The candidate's experience must include at least 2 years working with Agresso configuration.
  • Solid knowledge of the finance module in Agresso, including the asset management module is required.
  • Experience in the provision of functional analysis and support of an ERP system is an asset.
  • Cross functional experience in ERP is an advantage.
