Medical Data Advisor (m/f) – 24 months

The Medical Data Advisor will be responsible for supporting operations and the Medical Department in MSF OCG on all issues related to medical data collection, compilation, analysis, presentation, and medical data support to field projects.

Your mission

As a part of the Health Information System project (HIS), you will provide assistance and support to parties implied in the project. You will initiate and perform both operational and literature research and analyse developments in the field of epidemiology. Through the coordination of the medical data management, you will promote the vision of the Medical Department, and ensure the provision of relevant epidemiology capacity and medical data to our medical advisors on different thematic programmes.

You will closely assist the project with the design, the building and the implementation of the HIS Tool, under the epidemiological and IT dimensions and according to agreed plans. You will provide further high-level support and follow-up to the HIS Tool implementation, searching for adequate solutions in case of technical issues. You will be in charge of creating and managing weekly IT working group meetings for core deliverable status.

You will be asked to travel to the field in order to coach, train and advise field staff.

Your Profile

• You possess an advanced education (min. Master’s Degree) in epidemiology and/or medical statistics. Medical/paramedical background and Master in Public Health preferred.
• You preferably have at least 2 years of field experience with MSF or a similar organisation.
• You are fluent in English. Good knowledge of French and Spanish is an asset.
• You are greatly familiar with IT systems, including data security & storage protocol.
• You have a good working knowledge of open-source Medical Data Software (DHIS2, OpenMRS, etc.).
• You are able to handle queries quickly and efficiently, whilst being a team-player with strong people skills.
• You show a strong interest in humanitarian action and support MSF’s core values.

Terms of employment

• Full-time and fixed-term contract (24 months).
• Based in Geneva, with frequent visits to the field.
• Annual gross salary: CHF 95’052.-
