A vacancy for a Head of Control Integration (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Brest. The successful applicant will join the Quality Inspection organisation.
You will be responsible for managing 15 people for inspection activities on a military programme for serial production and MCO (Operational Control Support).
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring of production and modifications on the stages and the VTRI;
- Checking and confirming the integration conformity of the stages and VTRI in the mechanical, electrical and pyrotechnical fields through information written in the production documents, inspection procedures and official reports;
- Ensuring the monitoring of the definition which is workable and implemented;
- Organising the implementation of inspection process and monitoring plans;
- Ensuring the development of skills and versatility in the team;
- Actively managing the workload/workforce, and anticipating the resources by challenging the deliverables with Delivery Managers;
- Being responsible for compliance with managerial routines in place (SQCDP, Operational Meeting, Daily Market, etc.);
- Being responsible for establishing a process of continuous improvement (Lean, QUEST ...) within the entity;
- Ensuring a perfect traceability of what is carried out;
- Taking part in ARPI, in improving the procedures and conducting corrective actions;
- Ensuring processing and monitoring of the non-conformities using the software SAP;
- Producing the control documentation for each product;
- Relaying information to the leader of the group and the hierarchy;
- Showing operational versatility in your area of expertise (inspection backup, control method backup, final inspection support, and more generally, every versatility defined by the hierarchy);
- Writing and/or participating in the writing of the intervention documents (on specimens) and inspection procedures;
- Ensuring the monitoring of the definition which is workable and implemented;
- Monitoring the inspection performance, (OQOTOC) taking into account continuous improvement;
- Managing by anticipation the workload/workforce cost estimation of the inspection activities.
This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Required skills
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Engineering degree;
- At least 3 years of experience of similar functions in production;
- Pyrotechnic clearance would be an asset;
- Initial experience in team management;
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills;
- Negotiation level in French and intermediate in English.
