Our Services Execution Business Unit provides a large range of products and services including the Service Lines Fleet Maintenance, Asset Life Management (vehicle modernization) and Spare Parts and Component Overhaul. Services Execution WMA France – BeNeLux runs projects in 3 countries, working on a wide variety of Bombardier and non-Bombardier rolling stock materials.
The purpose of this role is to support both the resolution of train technical issues during the testing and commissioning phases as well as the electrical and electronic systems definition during the bid and project phases.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the definition and integration of electrical and electronics systems (CVS, PIS, ERTMS, etc.) into existing trains, during the bid and project phases.
- Draft technical requirements documentation for suppliers and customers.
- Perform necessary system calculations if required and write functional analysis.
- Participate to the functional and physical integration of electrical and electronics systems into existing trains, during the bid and project phases.
- Verify supplier tests and lead system test activities on the train.
- Identify and solve train technical issues during the testing and commissioning phases, in order to increase train reliability and availability.
- Follow the root cause analysis process by involving the necessary stakeholders (operators, suppliers, etc.) for a fast issue resolution and build and follow up with an action plan with reporting to project stakeholders and customer.
- Develop double sourcing of systems and spare components if required.
- Manage possible obsolescence issues with suppliers and other BT divisions.
Qualifications:
- You hold an engineering degree in electronic, electrical or electro-mechanical field.
- You have at least three years of relevant experience in electronics or electrical engineering, ideally in the railway industry.
- You have experience with root-cause analysis and diagnostics by using software interfaces.
- You are analytical and can overview a situation, without getting lost in the details.
- You enjoy working cross-functionally and you have good influencing skills.
- You speak fluent French as well as good English.
- You are comfortable to travel frequently across France and Europe.
