R&D Project Leader Advanced Patterning Center

The Advanced Patterning Center (APC) is a joint initiative launched by imec and ASML to address the upcoming scaling challenges associated with the chip industry’s move towards single digit nanometer dimensions. The center is located at the imec campus in Leuven (near Brussels) and is expected to grow continuously over the next couple of years. For the APC we are looking for an (m/f) R&D Project Leader Advanced Patterning Center.

As R&D Project Leader you will develop project plans, estimate and coordinate resources, outline and drive project deliverables, manage project financials, organize workshops and meetings, ensure high levels of communication and technology transfer between imec and ASML.

For our Process Technology (PT) unit we are currently looking for a (m/f): R&D Project Leader Advanced Patterning Center.

Job description
In your role as a R&D Project Leader, together with the Program Director and project technical owners, you will form the strategy of applications development for the ASML-IMEC Advanced Patterning Center. You will then translate the strategy into objectives and operational plans and request resources from the operational units to staff these plans. The execution of these plans will require your full attention. You will be steering a number of teams towards the achievement of their goals. As the research is done in various phases and involves multiple aspects – computational lithography, patterning process window optimization, lithography and etch fundamental studies, metrology and process control – you will ensure a smooth transition by interacting on a regular basis with the different participants and stakeholders of the Advanced Patterning Center. 

You will develop project plans, estimate and coordinate resources, outline and drive project deliverables, manage project financials, organize workshops and meetings, ensure high levels of communication and technology transfer between imec and ASML.

Profile
A proven track record of coordination skills in defining, planning, executing and reporting projects is required. A managerial track record is a plus. You are able to keep the overview of complex processes, work with deadlines and set priorities. With your pro-active and constructive attitude, mediation skills you instill enthusiasm within the research and development teams.

For this position, knowledge of semiconductor process technology/lithography is preferred, but not required. Additionally having a Master and/or a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or Chemistry is preferred, but not required.
