This full-time fixed-term position aims to enhance the performance of high-pressure hydrogen storage tanks using a hybrid system that combines novel nanoporous materials and impermeable layers with structural composites. The work will involve an investigation of mechanical properties of porous materials by developing a numerical model and integrate adsorbents materials within the composite tanks. The successful candidate will provide research expertise in the area of the project and will work across disciplines as part of team with partners from the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Bath. Liaison with industrial collaborators and H2FC Hub partners is also expected. Candidates should have a PhD in Materials or related discipline with experience in materials characterisation and manufacture and experience in use of modelling tools is desirable.
