Manufacturing/Process Engineer - Paint

Scope

We are recruiting Process Engineers to work in the Paint shop supporting current Production as well as preparing the the introduction of our new luxurious SUV model. Bentley Motors currently produces a high class bespoke paint finish which is unique in the Volkswagen Group. 
Our facility and equipment is being modernised to support increased volumes using up to date automation and production techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consultancy, development and improvement of processes for the Paint shop 
  • Planning of manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Lead operative Quality improvement activities
  • Collaboration with Engineering during Product Emergence Process to secure SOP (start of production)
  • Responsibility for achieving targets for series production and new models after introduction to manufacturing Secure change control for e.g. engineering changes and production trials
  • Develop, enhance and maintain product documentation (e.g. process instructions, operative amendments, bill of materials, PFMEA)
  • Teach/set, improve and secure equipment processes
  • Act as an facilitator throughout the manufacturing process

Qualifications

  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
  • German as an additional language preferred

Previous Experience

  • Engineering degree preferred
  • Ideally multi-year professional experience at OEM, Automotive Supplier or similar industry with focus on Paint application
  • Sound practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and Paint application
  • Understanding and experience of volume paint process’s for Automotive production
  • Pre-treatment and electrocoat, PVC, primer systems, topcoat application, Finishing/ polishing automated process’s
  • Process control tools
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate cross functional teams
  • Good knowledge in Lean Production, Continuous Improvement and Industrial Engineering preferred
  • High sense of responsibility and costs
  • Structured and self-dependant way of working
  • High level of analytical and conceptional skills and ability to manage work loads
  • Team player and good communication skills
  • Self-confident personality and emanate authority
