Function

Performance of Safety Engineering & Environmental activities supporting operations teams to meet the company objectives as described in Corporate Policy.

As Safety Engineer you are responsible for providing technical safety engineering advice to ensure that the risks to personnel on North Sea assets are managed to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP), thereby ensuring compliance with corporate objectives and UK legislation. You will ensure major hazards are effectively assessed, evaluated and managed in accordance with relevant statutory and corporate requirements. You will be responsible for the assessment, evaluation and management of cumulative risk where Safety Critical Elements are identified as impaired. You will provide independent technical safety engineering advice on modifications, technical queries, maintenance and projects to ensure that Bluewater fulfils its responsibilites under the legal framework.

Requirements

We are looking for you to have an understanding and knowledge of UK legislation (including OSCR, PFEER, PSR, MAR, DCR) and main regulatory bodies.

  • Bachelor degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent;
  • Oil & Gas Uk Medical Certificate, Combined Survival/Fire-fighting/HUET;
  • Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST);
  • CA-EBS training;
  • Previous experience in a petrochemical/offshore environment.
