Role Summary/Purpose:

The WES Lead Engineer is responsible for driving technical excellence, successful NPI execution, fulfillment and field issue resolution for electrical components used in GE wind turbines. Definition of component requirements, to work with related GE functions and suppliers to provide high quality, compliant and reliable components as well as the support of the Fleet Reliability Operations team with detailed field issue analysis, spare parts and upgrades to the existing customer units.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Wind turbine component ownership across technical clarification, interface definition, prototyping, testing, validation and introduction into manufacturing up to maintenance and fleet support
  • Work with global and cross-functional teams to leverage ‘Best Practice’ for lab testing, field validation and maintaining product quality
  • Definition and control of technical documentation for wind turbine electrical components, including specifications, bills of material, drawings, spare parts, 3D-models, and schematics
  • Ensure accordance to international codes and standards like IEC, UL, CSA, ISO, CE, CCC, DIN etc.
  • Preparation of design / analysis documentation, e.g. Design Practices, test reports, Work Desk Instructions (WDIs) etc.
  • Execute Engineering design changes for reliability or performance improvement / enhancement
  • Support related functions like Sourcing, Supplier Quality, Requisition, Manufacturing, and Services etc.
  • Work closely with the WES Technical Leaders and global team members to ensure high quality and on-time delivery for engineering assignments

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years’ electrical engineering experience
  • Proven design knowledge on electrical components
  • Willingness to travel (up to 20%)
  • Fluent in English language (spoken and written)
