Junior Scientist (m/f) for Health H2020 Project ULTRAPLACAD

In the framework of the H2020-funded ULTRAPLACAD project, AIT aims at the development of a
novel robust in vitro diagnostic system for early cancer diagnosis, prognosis, patient follow-up and
therapy efficacy assessment based on molecular analysis of peripheral blood. AIT offers a
postdoctoral position in order to support the research in optical biosensor utilizing plasmonically
amplified fluorescence assays. In particular, the Junior Scientist will be responsible for design of
specific plasmonic nanostructures, their preparation, characterization, and implementation to a
functional optical system. In collaboration with other team members, the Junior Scientist will pursue its
application for detection of antibodies against tumor associated antigens relevant to colon cancer
diagnostics.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in physics or engineering
  • Previous experience with optics and analytical (bio)technologies
  • Previous experience with plasmonic and nanotechnologies is advantageous
  • Good social and organizational skills in order to independently carry on research and support PhD
    and Master students
  • Fluent oral and written communications skills in English
  • Enthusiasm for unconventional solutions, creativity and visionary power

Salary:

The definite classification or remuneration occurs corresponding to qualifications and previous experiences. The annual gross salary is at least EUR 39.368,00 per year according to the Research CA.
