Post-Doc on Human Activity Understanding from 2D and 3D images

The Image group of CRSItAL laboratory www.cristal.univ-lille.fr (UMR CNRS 9189), France, is looking for a promising post-doc candidate to work on the field of Human Activity Understanding from 2D and 3D.

The successful candidate is expected to have a PhD in the area of computer vision and pattern recognition. The candidate is expected to have experience working in the area of shape analysis or computer vision and have some familiarity of 3D human activity recognition with 2D, 3D sensors and machine learning techniques. The post focuses on study and developing techniques at the state-of-the-art for human activity recognition. The appointee will be responsible for design, prototyping and experimentation of techniques for processing of 3D human sequences, for human representation and recognition/classification. Within the project, there will be ample opportunities to cooperate with some of the best groups in Europe and elsewhere.

Description

Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition and a good knowledge of written and oral English. Background in geometry field would be appreciated.

Applicants are expected to have finished, or be about to finish their Ph.D. degrees, to have a strong background in Computer Science, and to have a track record of publications in top conferences and journals. Strong programming skills (C or C++) are a plus. French language skills are not required, English is mandatory.
