Position: Senior Software Developer
Department: I.T. Services
Reports To: Head of I.T. Service
Job Responsibilities
Design, code, test, debug and document C++/Python/MySQL scripts as well as their unit test harnesses.
Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required, explain bugs and solutions to both technical and non technical colleagues.
Design physical and logical DB models.
Write SQL queries and tune the queries for optimisation.
Communicate effectively and clearly, in writing and orally, both in one on one and in group presentation situations.
Ability to remain flexible and multitask when faced with multiple urgent request.
Provide technical support to clients relating to company web applications.
Conduct an evaluation/QA testing of new software products .
Support and maintenance of existing codebase.
Able to think strategically and solve problems pragmatically.
Carries out any further duties assigned by their line manager.

BSc in Computer Science or relevant field
5 years’ experience in all aspects of web programming with a particular emphasis on Linux, Tornado, MySQL, PHP and Python development
Experience in FX, gaming or similar
5+ years RDBMS DBA experience 3 of which are in MySQL supporting live and development environments, including MVC, OOP and PDO programming experience
C++ and good Knowledge of OOP will be considered an advantage
Fluency in English extra language would be considered an advantage
Able to work in a fast paced environment
Experience in working with very senior and hands on technical experts
