Assisting Project Manager for Onshore and Offshore Geophysical and Geotechnical Surveys

Dong Energy

Denmark

Would you like the opportunity to use your engineering background to play a key role in the project management of large and complex geophysical and geotechnical activities?

Join us and become Assisting Project Manager for onshore and offshore geophysical and geotechnical surveys in our Site Investigation Management department. You will be a central member of a team of seven project managers and have 21 colleagues with backgrounds as geophysicists, geologists and geotechnical engineers, all committed to conducting the highest professional levels of geo-surveys as well as developing test and design methods.

Site Investigation Management is part of Wind Power which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling to our sites in the UK and Germany and our offices in London and Denmark in relation to your work.

Areas of responsibility:

As Assisting Project Manager, you will have the daily responsibility for managing several geophysical and geotechnical surveys, from preparing tender documents to conducting contract negotiations and handling risk management. You will also handle internal project management reporting to our project managers.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • plan survey activity;
  • perform tendering exercises;
  • handle contracts;
  • manage a small number of projects related to geotechnical and geophysical surveys;
  • liaise with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis, remotely and occasionally on-site.

In connection with the execution of projects, it will be your responsibility to provide a successful and effective dialogue with your colleagues and the business partners outside the organisation, including contractors and colleagues within the QHSE functions.

Your profile:

You have a relevant engineering degree or equivalent and solid experience with project management of several, ideally complex, projects. It will be an advantage if you have knowledge of offshore geoscience, although it is not a requirement.

As we operate in an international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently. Moreover, you have excellent communication skills, enabling you to communicate efficiently with your stakeholders.

As a person, you are motivated by professional challenges, and you enjoy working in a decision-orientated business where you have the opportunity to contribute with your expertise. You are motivated by sharing your knowledge with colleagues, and finally, you are able to drive your own tasks forward while collaborating closely with colleagues, stakeholders and other partners.
