Technical Leader Engineer

Major Position Responsibilities:

  • Performance of project management activities of assigned projects (planning, monitoring, controlling, reporting).
  • Leadership of an inter/-national project team with technical and personal leadership of assigned projects, establishing team work.
  • Multi-disciplinary role that involves system requirements analysis, interface analysis, and system architecture design. Lead the integration of Mechanical and Electronic modules into a final system to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Responsible for the flow down of system requirements/specifications to sub-systems and components.
  • Interact with customers to assure product performs appropriately in the vehicle tests.
  • Oversight of development projects related to customer concerns and cost reductions.
  • Understanding of design, manufacturing, costs and weight constrains necessary.
  • Application of project management and engineering processes according to TRW’s internal and international standards (PMI, GDPIM, ISO 15504, Automotive SPICE, CMMI SW-SE, ISO 12207, ISO 16949, TQM, ISO9000f).

External Contacts:

This position requires the individual to have some interaction with Customer contacts outside the Company at a mid-level. This communication would primarily be focused on specifics related to customer requirements, timing, deadlines, etc.

Internal Contacts:

This position requires a high level of interaction with contacts within the Company at mid level.

Decision Making:

This position requires the individual to make decisions based on priorities and deadlines, factoring in many unknowns at times. They must rely on technical and commercial information, as well.

Education Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in mechatronic, mechanical and/or electrical engineering or a related field is required for employment.

Experience and Skill Requirements

  • At least 5 years in the area of development and project management highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that specifically include the ability to concisely and accurately communicate technical information.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer experience in Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently to drive ideas through to completion.
  • Fluent knowledge of English and German language.
