SUMMARY

The Technical Consultant is responsible for responding to enquiries from the dealer network of a leading automotive manufacturer. To answer questions about product problems and information enquiries as quickly and effectively as possible, the Consultant will gather data from databases, information used in prior cases and by using their own practical experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handling one of German, Dutch or French dealer contacts, including responding to incoming phone calls and correspondence in the form of webchat and emails;
  • Spoken and written language skills to native standard;
  • Follow the established standard process for questioning & responding to the dealer;
  • Gather information through databases, research, manuals and internal/external contacts;
  • Understanding and applying the respective brand policies & empowerment to resolve the dealer requests raised, or creating & agreeing action plans to lead to resolution;
  • Accurate logging of all contacts and following up on action plans using a case management system;
  • Escalating issues to the Team Leader, ensuring the group maintains professionalism at all times whilst working within strict service level criteria;
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, flexibility towards work schedules/shift patterns.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

  • Apprenticeship as Automotive Technician;
  • Several years of practical work experience in an automotive workshop;
  • UK qualifications – NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Studies/BTEC National Diploma/NHC in Motor Vehicle Engineering;
  • (Or equivalent in native country).

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Effective written and verbal communication in both English and one of German, Dutch or French;
  • Microsoft Office applications & E-mail.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

Advanced knowledge of automotive systems. Advanced knowledge of databases. Demonstrates ability in strategy based diagnostics.

ANALYTICAL PROBLEM SOLVING

Able to use a systematic approach in solving problems through analysis of problem and evaluation of alternate solutions. Uses logic, mathematics or other problem solving tools in data analysis or in generating solutions.

Keeping focused on the customer when making decisions and taking actions.
