Description
As a Development Engineer in the Motorsports Engineering Group of Honeywell Turbo Technologies, you will support Lead Development Engineer leading technical development and application of new turbocharging solutions for high temperature racing applications. Responsibilities of the position include:
Perform combined aero-mechanical analysis of turbine and compressor stages using CFD and FEA tools;
Liaise on daily basis with engineering departments supporting activities of Motorsport Group like Design, Materials & Structure and Test Lab, as well as with subcontractors, suppliers and customers;
Recommend modification according to tests, analyses and validation results.
Qualifications
B.S./M.S. Engineering degree or equivalent;
Five or more years of engineering experience; turbomachinery aerodynamics, design and development preferred;
Experience working directly with customers would be a bonus.
Skills
Experience with advanced analytical tools like CFD and FEA, preferable ANSYS products;
Fundamental knowledge in mechanical and aerodynamic design of turbomachinery and internal combustion engines;
Experience with turbomachinery testing would be a bonus;
A clear understanding of Engineering processes;
Strong bias for action;
Takes personal responsibility for satisfying the customer’s needs;
Ability to work effectively under stress;
Willingness to learn, strong analytical and problem solving skills;
Very good communication skills, both verbal and written;
Proficiency in English, both speaking and writing.
