A vacancy for a Development Engineer - Verification Power (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Friedrichshafen. The successful applicant will join “Validation & Test Systems”. In this position you will be responsible for verifying and qualifying modules and units which supply electrical energy to satellites and spacecraft.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Being responsible for/coordinating the tasks involved in the verification of electronic space products, i.e. planning verification, performing verification, producing reports, monitoring verification, and ensuring close-out, from the beginning of the project through to delivery of the product;
- Being the focal point for the customer for all the verification and testing aspects of the electronic space product;
- Defining the general verification approach, taking into account the particularities and requirements of Engineering, the qualification status and the product categories, the availability and maturity of the verification instruments, the verification methods and the programme-related requirements;
- Producing verification and test documents in the project, such as Verification Control Documents, test schedules, test procedures;
- Coordinating and monitoring the requirements of customer documents, through to specifications at sub-levels, where necessary using software tools such as DOORS;
- Coordinating and monitoring input from lower-tier subcontractors and all the Engineering departments with regard to the verification status;
- Planning, coordinating and/or carrying out the final verification at product level within the framework of acceptance tests, and producing the related documentation, including reports for the project manager, the customer, and the specialist department;
- Integrating and testing sub-systems and components;
- Producing specifications, defining test means, and ensuring configuration control and the availability of the necessary test means.
Required skills
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology or similar;
- Experience in the definition of test requirements and test campaigns;
- Basic knowledge of testing techniques for electronic hardware;
- Good knowledge of MS Office. Experience of DOORS would be an advantage;
- English: fluent; German: would be a plus.
