OSS Architect Main Responsibilities:

It is the responsibility of the OSS Architect to lead the design of the entire OSS solution during pre-sales support activities, RFPs and RFQs or during the delivery phase, to scope and deliver integrated solutions, options and up-scopes to the customer's measure of satisfaction. Having a sound understanding of the network, OSS and application technologies, the OSS Architect applies business development techniques and skills to scope, schedule and deliver solutions that meet the business needs of the client, and which are integrated and coordinated across multiple technical domains.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Customer facing role at multiple levels, requiring across the West European region;
  • Create and define the integration and solution offerings in line with the strategic program development and delivery plan;
  • Interfaces with both internal and external industry experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solution development and delivery;
  • Work with our clients HQ and regional counterparts to 'productise' and 'industrialise' innovative, efficient, secure and robust OSS solutions;
  • Work directly with senior customer stakeholders to influence, define and agree the solution and systems architecture;
  • Support the sales cycle working closely with sales account managers and pre-sales engineers to define account technical strategies, define technical solutions, provide pre-sales assistance and deliver to customers;
  • Own the solution transition from sales and pre-sales into solution delivery;
  • Design and develop OSS solutions for IP, MPLS, Voice, VoIP, Wireless (2G/3G/4G) Networks, and potentially other technologies as well as services;
  • Meet with our leading customers and manage workshops with them. You'll be expected to interact with senior architects and potentially hold discussions at CxO level;
  • Represent and advocate our client to customers and the rest of the industry in the development and deployment of inter-networking and OSS solutions.

OSS Architect Requirements:

  • At least a Bachelor degree or equivalent in Engineering, Information Technology or similar technical discipline;
  • 12+ years of work experience in the architecture, design development and implementation of information technology systems/solutions for the Telecommunications and IT industry;
  • 8+ years of solid experience in OSS area and specifically in integrated fault, performance, service, inventory, test and TT Management;
  • Hands-on experience with best-of-breed applications from recognized vendors;
  • Very strong systems integration capabilities with software development, applications, and infrastructure experience;
  • Very strong customer orientation, influence, applied creativity, technical and professional expertise, listening, responding and building trust with customers;
  • Sound technical awareness encompassing multimedia applications, OSS, and network technologies such as Wireless, IP/MPLS and ADSL;
  • Experience of leading complex Systems Integration (SI) projects for a leading SI using a variety of industry products and technologies;
  • Line management experience with knowledge of current and legacy business practices with in-depth knowledge of Systems Integration in other Telco's and large Enterprises;
  • English language fluency is mandatory;
  • Soft skills and experience in demanding customer situations customer negotiations, problem solving and crisis management;
  • Very flexible to routinely travel 60% across West Europe;
  • Must be eligible to work in the EU to be considered for this position.
