The Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg seeks to fill the following vacancyResearcher “CT reconstruction and imaging concepts” Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Institute of Medical Engineering, Chair Catheter Technologies (INKA)
Salary Scale: 13 TV-L
Date commencing: asap
Fixed term until 31.10.2015, extension up to 4 years possible
Contract status: 70%
“Catheter Technologies” is a new chair at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU). In the scope of the INKA – Intelligent Catheters project, we are looking for highly qualified and motivated researchers to join our group. Research focus is the image guided minimal invasive therapy, especially development of intelligent tools and implants in combination with imaging modalities and close to medical needs. The chair is embedded in the Institute of Medical Engi-neering and the Research Campus STIMULATE at OVGU. The Researcher will support the team on a number of specific research projects, which will contribute to the wider objectives of the group.
Main responsibilities:
- Realisation of research projects, especially CT reconstruction in close cooperation with industrial partners
- Realisation and research of new imaging concepts

Requirements for the position:
- Excellent Diplom or Master degree in physics, mathematics or informatics
- Experience in medical imaging, especially CT and image processing
- Experience in numerical mathematics
- Excellent programming skills (C, C++, MATHLAB…)
