For the Hydro business, in charge of managing the world’s largest hydroelectric projects, Alstom is seeking a new employee to be based in its European unit in Belfort.
Reporting to the Head of Mechanical Engineering, you will be in charge of mechanical calculations during the project.
- You will support also the Technical project manager in the activities of standard calculations.
- You will participate in the design and optimization of the generator in collaboration with the Technical project manager and the Design Office keeping in mind the objectives of cost/time/quality.
- You will perform mechanical calculations as well as dynamic calculations, fatigue assessment, analytically or with finite element method.
- You will also participate in R & D actions in collaboration with the Technology Centre.
- You will make occasional works on plant site for technical expertise during commissioning.
You will be able to develop yourself within our expert policy.
Qualifications
- You have a Mechanical Engineering degree, an experience of 3 years minimum in design of rotating machines. You have a strong background in mechanical calculations, including strength of materials, heat exchange.
- You master pack office, the ANSYS software, and knowledge of Pro-Engineer or Autocad will be appreciated.
- You are fluent in English, you are autonomous and you have good interpersonal skills.
