Global Project Manager - Construction

In 2014 we opened over 350 new stores and entered five new markets, making a current total of over 3500 stores worldwide - a number that we plan on doubling.

THE PROJECT MANAGER POSITION


Introduction in Stockholm, 4 weeks


The initial period will include both general introduction to H&M and in depth introduction to the Construction department. To get insight in H&M’s core business, you will work as a Sales Advisor in an H&M store for a couple of weeks. Since Construction is part of the Expansion function at H&M, the training period will also include an introduction to all parts of this function. This will give you an overall picture of Expansion at H&M and a great opportunity to build your network within the company.


Introduction in European country, 2 months


After your first weeks in Stockholm you will get additional training in one of our European country organizations. Here you will follow a Project Manager and Construction Manager in their daily work but also get your own assignments.

 

Placement abroad


After your completed training period you will be assigned to a role as Project Manager and be part of the Construction Organization in your placement country. Your main task will be to lead and coordinate our store construction projects, which requires a high level of collaboration with internal as well as external project participants.

 

You will be responsible for planning and executing our projects according to set time plans and budgets and also secure that the store is meeting our demands in terms of design, quality and commerciality. You will also be highly involved in the tendering process of external services for all projects. The location of your placement abroad will be based on H&M’s future expansion needs.

In order for you to be successful in your role we believe you need to have:

  • A degree in Construction Engineering/Engineering
  • Interest in retail
  • An international mindset and willingness to live abroad for minimum three years
  • Fluent in English is required, while fluency in other languages is meriting.
