Food Nutrition Quality Assurance Adviser (1384)

About Save the Children

In line with Save the Children’s humanitarian public health strategy, we are significantly scaling up our frontline health & nutrition capacity so that many more children’s lives can be saved in emergencies. The nature of the nutrition interventions have significantly evolved in the past 20 years with the development of Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) and the scaling up of the Community Based of acute Malnutrition (CMAM). From simple recipes based on raw ingredients prepared on site, we are now using complex, specially formulated and fortified foods closer to medical supplies than food. This includes a growing range of products manufactured and supplied all over the world and more and more frequently in programmatic countries.

Additional in house expertise is therefore urgently needed to tackle the increasing complexity of food and nutrition products available in the market, align with SCI medical and pharmaceutical procedures, better support nutrition product supply chain in country office and participate in the global effort of norms and standards revision.
