We are seeking an experienced and motivated Postdoctoral Associate to work on developing and testing biomimetic flow sensors for biomedical flow sensing in intravenous tubes. The candidate must be self-driven and highly motivated toward development and commercialization of MEMS sensors. Candidate is expected to work closely and report to the SMART Innovation center on progress in sensor commercialization.
Description
Interested candidates must demonstrate relevant research background and skills to work in a research project that demands expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Micro/Nano Electromechanical Systems (MEMS/NEMS) sensors and micro-sensing technologies, MEMS packaging and assembly technologies.
• Experience on working with MEMS device design, fabrication and characterization in industrial class clean rooms.
• Bio-inspired/ Biomimetic sensing, biomimetic materials, soft-polymers, piezoelectric nanofibers, and microfluidics.
• Experimental and application-driven MEMS/NEMS sensors
Requirements:
The candidate should preferably satisfy the following requirements:
• Ph.D in Mechanical engineering, Material Science, Experimental Physics and Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Candidates with research experience that closely matches the necessary skill-set will be preferred. Candidate must have pursued relevant courses during PhD and masters studies with a good score.
• Experience with clean-room unit processing MEMS fabrication equipment including lithography, surface/bulk micromachining, SEM, TEM, Spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy.
• Should have designed and fabricated MEMS sensors and must demonstrated the working of the sensors through public demo’s, publications, spin-off’s etc.
• Has demonstrated credible innovation in a research project.
• Has published papers in relevant high-quality journal and conference papers.
• Experience in grant / proposal writing, leading to the successful awarding of external funding would be a plus.
• Experience in writing high-quality scientific reports and patent applications.
• Self-motivated person who is able to work independently as well as in a team.
