The Center for X-ray Analytics develops new X-ray methods and extends existing ones in the domain of material analytics combined with the corresponding data treatments, simulations and correlates structure with the materials physical properties. It also supports other Empa laboratories with its analytical capabilities.

Your tasks

You will do R&D in the domain of X-ray analytics, with a focus on High Resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD), non-ambient environmental studies, data analysis, modelling and simulations. You will write project proposals and help to acquire external funding. You will present your scientific results through publications and on conferences and you will actively engage with scientific collaborators and industrial partners. Acquisition and execution of industrial projects will also be part of your tasks.

Your profile

You have a university degree with PhD in science or engineering and bring in a deep knowledge of X-ray analytics, preferentially in diffraction methods. Experience in project management, writing publications and giving presentations is compulsory. You show high social skills and you are an excellent team player. We are looking for a person who is proac-tive, convincing, fluent in English and German and who enjoys a multicultural environment.
