Maintenance Engineer
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to fill a national consultancy position of Maintenance Engineer. The position will be based in the Facilities Management Branch at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy for an initial period of 6 months, with possibility of extension up to 11 months.
As the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against hunger, WFP is continually responding to emergencies. WFP saves lives by getting food to the hungry, quickly. But WFP also works to help prevent hunger in the future. This is achieved through programmes that use food as a means to build assets, spread knowledge and nurture stronger, resilient communities that are more food secure. WFP has developed expertise in a range of areas including Emergency Planning and Response, Food Security Analysis, Nutrition, Food Procurement and Logistics to ensure the best solutions for the world's hungry. On average, WFP aims to reach more than 90 million people with food assistance in more than 73 countries.
Reporting to the Head of Section and a senior Maintenance Engineer, the Consultant will be providing support and assistance on the management and supervision of all major installations and maintenance services at our Headquarters.
