Roles And Responsibilities
We are looking for a tech-savvy, driven performer to join the EMEA sales team. Working in a team of business development managers and project managers, the Powerline Industry Expert will lead the effort in Southern Europe to market and implement Fugro’s unique Roames® solution. The successful candidate will jointly develop a business strategy for Roames® in the region.
The purpose is to follow through successful approaches with technical consultancy in the client office and with a great deal of corporate experience guide the prospect to a successful business case for the implementation of the Roames® solution.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing a business strategy for the Southern European market
- Managing customer accounts with major and minor DNO’s and TSO’s in countries like (but not limited to) France, Italy and Spain.
- Leading the implementation of the Roames® solution in the client offices, including project management aspects and technical consultation.
- Close collaboration with your colleagues in business development, project management and R&D
- Identifying new business opportunities and delivering significant new workconsistent with the company’s strategic objectives through both individual and team efforts.
- Representing Fugro Geospatial with clients and prospective clients by conducting client visits, attending trade shows/seminars, presentations via Internet or face to face.
- Understanding our capabilities and services across the Fugro Group, so as to correctly advise on suitable technology and solutions available.
- Identifying customer needs and, where necessary, developing specifications for bespoke work
- Writing proposals, assisting with project estimates and briefing the technical teams
- Providing timely and accurate reports on business opportunities, customer and competitor activities
Requirements
This is a challenging position and will require a diverse set of skills of which the following would be considered favorable:
- Degree/Diploma or equivalent experience in engineering or business development.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electricity transmission and/or distribution industry, in business development or management position.
- Worked in asset management or as an electrical engineer.
- Business operations including knowledge infield maintenance and inspection activities
- Business system and process experience
- Knowledge on corporate systems ideally in GIS (eg. Smallworld GE or ESRI) and Asset Management (eg. SAP)
- Regulatory knowledge - may have been involved with development / preparation of a regulatory submissions
- Fluency in English, one of the Romance languages (preferably Spanish) and preferable competency in a second Romance language (e.g. Italian, French)
- Understanding of the Southern European business environment and dynamics
- Ability to work in a highly independent environment.
- Strong business acumen, client-service, and results orientation.
- Exceptional communication skills oral, written and listening/summarizing, particularly with those at executive levels.
- History of building positive relationships internally and externally.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and strong negotiation skills.
- Highly numerate and confident with spreadsheets, databases and word processing
- Able to prioritise and manage workload.
- Willing to travel as needed, including international locations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Full Driving licence and full Valid Passport as the position will require international travel
