Associate Engineer - Product Quality Assurance

JOB DESCRIPTION

Furthermore, you are ready to work independently, under pressure and to handle multiple projects in parallel. You are flexible to travel several times a year and to handle peak activity periods. RISE TO THE CHALLENGE

You will join the Product Qualification team within Research & Development, Philip Morris Products SA in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

This position aims to recruit an engineer with broad experience covering electronics, software and product qualification experience to join the product testing function.

The primary mission of PMI Research & Development is to research and develop new products which may have the potential to reduce the risks* of smoking related diseases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, design and perform functional and robustness testing of electronic devices with embedded software to demonstrate product compliance to Functional Specifications
  • Prepare product quality test reports in line with the needs of Design Control requirements
  • Liaise with subject matter experts in a timely manner to address any deficiencies or defects found during testing
  • Liaise with software development team to plan, define requirements and integrate/test embedded electronic systems
  • Create/Maintain Procedures (SOP) & Work Instructions (WKI) relating PQE function
  • Maintain Defect Tracking system and ensuring all FIXED defects are properly tested and closed in a timely manner
  • Investigate appropriate new technologies to improve existing test methods

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or Technical Diploma in Electronics or Software Engineering
  • Substantial experience in electronic design and/or product testing: Relevant industries would be: consumer electronics products manufacturer, medical device manufacturer, scientific instrument manufacturer, automation products/services provider, design consultancy
  • Experience in managing/collaboration with external electronics development partners
  • Software quality engineering methods, processes & tools
  • Electronics design experience, preferably for hand-held devices
  • Has good knowledge of analogue circuits and interfacing them to microcontrollers
  • Experience in power management circuits for battery operated hand-held devices
  • Enthusiastic, creative and pragmatic individuals who enjoy, challenging and international work environment
  • Fluency in English both oral and written
